As we begin our fourth year of existence, I hope that we have lived up to our members’ and readers’ expectations.

From the beginning, we have produced a monthly newsletter — that’s eight to 12 pages packed with information each month. I know of no other group that can boast of a record like that.

We also have had a range of speakers and begin our fourth year with a talk by Prof. Charles Schweighauser of the University of Illinois at Springfield. He is a well-known for his teaching of astronomy and physics, as well as his popular "Star Parties" at the UIS observatory that are open to the public. He will give a lively lecture on the nature of science and its relation to pseudoscientific topics, such as astrology and UFOs.

In the coming months, look for a major redesign of the newsletter that will bring you the same range of information on paranormal and pseudoscientific subjects along with enhanced graphics to increase readability and enhance your understanding even further.
